The sack which was contained in a statement by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Hajiya Zainab Abdulmumin, came few days after a bloody crisis which the state government blamed on Ombatse, an Eggon group.
The statement read: “In view of the new approach to containing security challenges, especially the reinforcement of security operatives by the Federal Government and in order to give them an unfettered operational discretion, the office of the State Security Adviser has become irrelevant”. The governor appreciated General Umar for his services.
Retired General Umar is from Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area, and was appointed security adviser on February 9th.
General Umar could not be reached for his reaction to the development as his phone was switched off.
