A former governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has dismissed claims that there is a rift between him and his successor, Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking during the inauguration of his campaign advisory council that would work for his senatorial re-election Sunday in Lafia, Al-Makura advised people to desist from fake news, hate speeches, mischief and blackmail.
He said, “I want to use the opportunity of this event to refute rumours going round the state suggesting that there is misunderstanding between my successor and I. I urge the people to desist from hate speeches, mischiefs and blackmail.”
He said he had supported Sule to succeed him because of his competence, pedigree and experience of the country’s economic system.

“I introduced Governor Sule. You have all come around me, behind me and virtually every home, every village, every town, you are all for Sule and by the special grace of God, you elected him as governor.
“And you can see, we the people of Nasarawa State, we have not made any mistake. If you look at who A. A. Sule is, you will know that you have made the right choice,” Al-Makura said.
