Al-Makura who is seeking the APC nomination alongside Dr. James Angbazo and retired Group Capt. Zakka Angbazo, has already purchased his intent and nomination forms.
The governor declared before members of his cabinet and other appointees, as well as the state party officials and other stakeholders that his decision was informed by  wide consultations after pressures by the people of the state.
He said he felt convinced to run again because he had looked back with satisfaction that his administration had built a foundation for the development and economic prosperity of the state which he said he had salvaged from several years of backwardness.
Al-Makura told newsmen that he did not make any commitment to govern only for a term, adding that he did not commit to Eggon politicians to hand over to them after a term in office.
He said it is for the people to decide, and not him, whether or not he should govern only for a term and who should succeed him.
Eggon politicians have repeatedly said Al-Makura  promised to hand over to an Eggon, which spurred their support for his candidature in 2011.
But Al-Makura said he made no commitment to any ethnic group but the generality of Nasarawa people to govern them to their satisfaction.
