Akwaji pledges opportunities for Bekwarra indigenes 

Hon. Theresa Ushie Akwaji, Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government Area, has reaffirmed that her leadership priorities centered on inclusivity, accountability, and sustainability.

Speaking during a media visit to her office in Bekwarra, on Tuesday, Hon. Akwaji outlined her agenda for transformative leadership aimed at fostering development and renewing the trust of the Bekwarra people in governance.

She emphasized that her administration is rooted in the foundational pillars of sustainability, inclusivity, and accountability, describing her vision of a Bekwarra where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.

The Chairman expressed a deep commitment to ensuring that every indigene benefits from her developmental initiatives, regardless of their status or background.

“The hope of the Bekwarra people must be renewed in leadership” she stated.

Hon. Akwaji explained that her administration would focus on empowering youth to thrive, uplifting women, and protecting vulnerable populations reiterating the importance of creating platforms for young people to develop through education, skills acquisition, and employment opportunities, while recognizing the critical role of women in driving societal progress.

Speaking also on the need for grassroots development, she underlined her administration’s reliance on participatory governance and community engagement to deliver sustainable progress. Hon. Akwaji stressed the need to harness the collective talents and energy of the Bekwarra people to achieve a brighter future for the community.

“Inclusive decision-making and listening to the needs and aspirations of the people, would remain central to my governance style, ensuring that policies and initiatives directly benefit the community.

“I pledge sincerely my commitment to addressing critical gaps in infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development. We are working on initiatives aimed at creating sustainable opportunities for residents to improve their livelihoods.”
