The youth leaders forum of the 36 states and the FCT of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have declared support for Senator Godswill Akpabio as the next Senate president, saying he will bring transformational change to the 10th National Assembly.
A communique, signed by the FCT APC youth leader, Idris Umar Faruq, at the end of the APC, states youth leaders forums meeting in Abuja, on Thursday, said the choice of the National Working Committee of the APC in zoning the Senate presidency to the South-South which favours Akpabio was a good step in the right direction.
They said Senator Akpabio deserves the exalted seat of the Senate president due to his good track record as a former governor of Akwa-Ibom State and ex-minister of the Niger Delta.
The communique said as states youth leaders of APC and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in their respective states, after looking at the significance of the zoning and track record of Akpabio, decided to declare their support of the decision of the party’s NWC.
