Akoko North-East deserves good representation

Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, popularly called BTO, is not a new comer in Ondo politics. Over the years, he has become a household name in the Akoko area where he hails from. In the 2019 elections, he is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akoko North-East/West federal constituency.

His aim for running to represent his people at the House of Representatives is to bring governance closer to them. He said his constituency must benefit from core development, even as he would make efforts to create wealth.

He said that through effective representation, he would influence, persuade and lobby the Federal Government to embark on total reconstruction of roads in his constituency, which he said had become an eyesore.

He highlighted a three-point agenda – infrastructural development, wealth creation: employment and empowerment, education and health care – which he said would guide him to achieve effective representation.

What distinguishes Tunji-Ojo from other candidates is his wide exposure and record of representation and service to the people of Akoko North-East/West federal constituency, as well as his wealth of experience.

Having worked as a consultant to the Federal Government and its agencies, as well as the two arms of the National Assembly for over a decade, through his company, New Planet Projects Limited, Tunji-Ojo is well grounded with the internal workings of the National Assembly. Going to the House of Representatives would help him to build on existing relationships and develop new ones on both sides of the aisle. This, no doubt, will help facilitate developmental projects to Akoko North-East and West.

His work at the grassroots level is equally a boost to his aspiration. He has continued to make community services his priority. Through constant outreach and aggressive engagement with youths and women, he has helped residents in diverse ways.

BTO is highly accessible, and it is believed that he would not change when he becomes a member of the House of Representatives in 2019.
