The Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) as well as the Nasarawa State Government have planned a business roundtable to amplify the economic benefits of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project to host states.
A statement from GACN Tuesday said the roundtable which will be held in Lafia, the state capital, on Thursday is coming on the heels of the Kano Gas Stakeholders’ Forum which was held in August 2021.

GACN said the Nasarawa roundtable would witness a Gas Supply agreement involving NNPC, GACN and Nasarawa State Government.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will also include multi-party joint working teams, comprising gas suppliers, virtual pipeline solution providers, and Nasarawa state representatives to proffer gas supply strategies and solutions consistent with the identified private and public sector priority projects of the Nasarawa state.
“The NNPC–GACN–Nasarawa State gas utilization collaboration MOU will be executed in the course of this event,” it noted.
“GACN also said a multi-Party team has already commenced gas commercialization discussions with the various state government representatives to determine the gas needs of AKK States for their priority projects.
“Consultations with key gas solution providers are ongoing to provide an end-to-end, high-level competitive and robust near-term gas supply plan to meet the gas requirement of the identified critical gas and power demand clusters, free trade zones, and industrial zone parks in the various states,” said GACN.
The statement also revealed that GACN and NNPC have executed MOUs with Kano and Kaduna while discussions with Kogi and Nasarawa are being finalised.
