Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has pleaded with residents of the state to remain calm in the wake of calls for the cancellation of the presidential election results by the members of the opposition parties.
The governor, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, asked the residents not to succumb to the agitations of the opposition.
“We understand that some political parties are agitated but there is no reason for our people to succumb to agitations. I urge you all to remain calm,” the governor said in the statement.
Akeredolu noted that the issues would be resolved among parties while asking the residents not to entertain fear but go about their normal daily activities.

He commended the people for turning out en masse during Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections and voting for the APC candidates.
While describing the people of the state as unique and distinct, Akeredolu said the voice of the people was unanimous and loud in choosing the candidates of the party across the board.
He pleaded with the people to turn out again in large numbers in the March 11 election and vote for the APC candidates.
