Mr Tunji Ajuloopin has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 17 by-election into Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-ero Federal Constituency in Kwara State.
The primary election was conducted by a panel of electoral committee led by the chairman, Usman Zanna.
Other members of the electoral panel included; Domian Okpara, Kaigama Umar, Ja’afar Liman and Umar Gashua who acted as the Secretary of the panel.
According to the chairman of the electoral panel, “in a democratic process, we have election through direct, indirect and consensus, but we decided to take the consensus option.”
He said that the panel was there to affirm the candidacy of Ajuloooin through the consensus option.
Recall that the constituency’s seat was declared vacant by the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara after the demised of Princess Funke Adedoyin.
Adedoyin was said to have died from cancer on September 25.
The Independent National Eelctoral Commission had issued a guideline for the by- election via a time table released on October 29 and signed by Mr Okechukwu Ndeche, Acting Secretary of the commission.
