A former Managing Director of Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust, Daily Trust on Saturday, Daily Trust on Sunday,Aminiya and Tambari, Mallam Isiaq Ajibola has said he is happy to associate with President Muhammadu Buhari Cup.
The golf enthusiast who is competing in the finals of the tournament which teed off yesterday at the IBB Golf Club commended Daily Trust for honouring President Buhari and contributing to peace in Nigeria.
“It is indeed gratifying to know that Daily Trust is organising this tournament. I say it is big because it is Presidential Cup tournament.
“Presidential Cup as you know, is one competition that is common in other parts of the world. We used to have similar competitions in Nigeria but in recent times, this is the first to be taken to this level.
“And I am happy to associate with it. Although we may have hitches here and there, I believe in future, it will be better than this,” he said.
Ajibola also expressed satisfaction with the turnout of golfers as he said it will encourage the organisers to sustain the tournament.
“It is an exciting thing. Golf brings so much excitement. If you play golf, you will understand better.
“I believe it will be sustained. I know that Daily Trust operates auto-pilot system. The system is there. Once they start, they don’t stop. The system will sustain it. I hope it will be sustained,” he enthused.
