Ajanah boost for ABS as Gata faces late fitness test

Coach of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, Henry Makinwa, will be delighted to welcome his experienced central defender, Chinedu Ajanah back to his match day squad, for week 24 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Lobi Stars of Makurdi today in Ilorin. 

Makinwa confirmed to the Club Media on Saturday that Ajanah participated in full training after missing the last three games against Akwa United, Niger Tornadoes and Ifeanyi Ubah. 

The former Real Sociedad of Spain and Tianjin TEDA of China attacker, said wonderkid Adeshina Gata, sit out the Friday’s evening training due to dizziness but he will be assessed and monitored till Sunday. 

“I am delighted to have Ajanah back, every of my players are important because they all have a role to play. 

“Gata showed some level of tiredness in Nnewi on Wednesday against Ifeanyi Ubah and we had to bring him out to rest. 

“He sat out Friday’s training in the evening, but we will see what happens” Makinwa. 

The former Rayo Valecano of Spain attacker, said his wards lost to Ifeanyi Ubah on Wednesday due to lack of mental strength to play beautifully well away from home. 

“I don’t know, Nigerian players have this poor mentality playing away from home. Lobi game is going to be tough but I don’t have any doubt over the boys’ ability to deliver the 3 points”, Makinwa said. 

The Saraki Boys are currently 12th on the log with 31 points from 23 games. 

The newly promoted Ilorin based side, lost 3-0 in Makurdi on match day 4.
