Mahmud Halilu Ahmed, a younger brother to Wife of the Nigeria’s president, Aisha Buhari has joined governorship race in Adamawa state.
Halilu’s picture with President Muhammadu Buhari holding his party nomination form sent ripples in the public with many people accusing the President of bias.
“The president ought to be a father to all aspirants. He should take photos with all other aspirants”, lamented a party member who did not want his name published.
At a formal declaration of his gubernatorial ambition in Yola on Monday, Mahmud known as Modi accused Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla of dishonesty and neglect of all sectors.
He decried the suffering to which the electorate in the state were subjected due to lack of leadership capacity and insincerity of the present administration.
If elected, the President’s brother-in-law promised to work with the party (APC) executives and other stakeholders to correct the ills.
In his remark, the state party chairman, Ibrahim Bilal assured all aspirants of justice and fair play at the primaries.
However, the founder of Buhari/Osinbajo and Bindow 2019, Dahiru Hammandikko dismissed the President’s in law as light weight, saying he lacked support base to make any impact at the primaries.
