Airport Police Command decorates newly promoted officers

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, Mrs Victoria Menta, has urged officers and men of the command to be committed and discharge their duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
She stated this while decorating nine newly elevated officers of the command at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
The command promoted five officers from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP) while four others were elevated from Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The commissioner reminded the newly promoted officers to discharge their cardinal responsibility as officers of the law by protecting the lives and property of the citizenry.
She said they should ensure that there was law and order in the society.
She further urged the officers to use their new positions to further strengthen the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force, adding that their current promotion comes with more responsibilities.
“They say to whom much is given, much is expected. I urge you to be up and doing and excel much more than you have been doing before because the new rank comes with new responsibilities. The command will benefit with the promotion because we will have more officers handling bigger responsibilities.
“We are lucky to have had so many officers promoted and this has brought joy to the command,” she said.
The Public Relations Officer of the command and one of the newly promoted officers, DSP Joseph Alabi, commended the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, for approving the promotions.
Alabi assured the commissioner that the promotion would boost the morale of the officers, saying they would continue to maintain professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
