The Chief Air Staff, Air Marshal Saddiq Abubakar, says daily airstrikes will continue in the Sambisa forest until the Boko Haram militants are completely defeated.
Speaking in Yola while inspecting two newly acquired aircraft at the Air Wing of the 75 Strike Force yesterday, Saddiq noted that the new aircraft would boost the morale of troops in the counter insurgency campaign.
He sought the support of people of the North East on Intelligence gathering, saying no country can defeat terrorism without the active participation of the civil populace.
“Whatever intelligence report the people have will go a long way in assisting the military to Identify where the criminals are hiding because at times the terrain is too difficult for our military to easily penetrate. It is also difficult for an aircraft to identify a 13 year old girl carrying explosives except the people around her,” he said.
