Air Force to end operations in north east by year end, says CAS

The Air Force has said it will end its operations in the north east by year end.

The Air Force has said it will end its operations in the north east by year end.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar on Saturday charged air force personnel to keep working hard in hopes of ending their operations in the region.

“The federal government is doing all humanly possible to support Nigeria Air Force, I am sure you are aware that surveillance aircraft just returned from Germany for maintenance, was reactivated and is now to be deployed here to support your operations,” he said while addressing airmen and officers at the headquarters of the air task force of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri.

“Very soon, we will begin see things happening, those to be trained on the aircraft has been shortlisted already and very soon they will commence their training so I want to urge you to continue doing your best and your best must be good enough.

“Keep working hard. I am sure very soon, I want to assume that very soon at least before the end of this year we should be rounding up this operation or latest by ending of this year. So work towards that and be rest assure that Nigeria Air Force will continue to support you,” he assured.

“I am happy with the level of synergy that is going on between you and the theatre Command. Keep working hard and like I said, we will continue to support you with everything you require to ensure that you are effective in discharge of your responsibility.”
