AIB to deploy drone in accident investigation

Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria (AIB-N) has concluded plan to deploy Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) popularly known as a drone in aircraft accident and incident investigation.

The bureau has also trained 10 investigators on the use of drone (UAV).

Commissioner/CEO of AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru who spoke at the closing ceremony of the week-long Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) training for investigators, held at University of Lagos (UNILAG) Consult in Lagos said the agency was determined to protect the accuracy of data.

He stated that deployment of technology was paramount to the investigation process, noting that accidents could happen anywhere.
