Ahmadu Bello Foundation: Train bombing shows nowhere is safe in Nigeria

The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) has said the terror attack on a Kaduna-bound train has shown that nowhere is safe in Nigeria.

The Director-General of the foundation, Engineer Abubakar Gambo Umar, while condemning the attack called on the Federal Government and the relevant agencies concerned to be more vigilant about their responsibility.

In a statement, he said, “The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation unreservedly condemns terror attack of Monday, March 28, 2022 on the Abuja-Kaduna bound passenger train.

“With terrorists having the audacity to attack a National Shuttle despite the available security apparatus, it means that hardly is anywhere safe any longer in the country. It is a matter of serious concern that these security infractions are happening at a time that the Government is assuring the general public that it was on top of the situation.

“We call on the Federal Government and relevant agencies concerned to be more vigilant about their responsibility and ensure that this ugly incident is prevented from happening again. We urge the authorities to ensure that the wounded are given proper medical attention while families of those who lost their lives are adequately compensated.

“We commiserate with the families of the victims who lost their lives as a result of the attack and sympathize with those suffering from any form of physical or emotional trauma.”
