Ahmadiyya seeks political solutions to Israel-Palestine crisis

The Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN), Youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, has called for political solutions to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, as it was not entirely a religious crisis.

The Sadr (National President), Majlis Khuddam (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization) Nigeria, Mr. Roqib Akintunde Akinyemi, said this at a briefing in Abuja ahead of the 50th Majlis Khuddam (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization) Annual National Convention (Ijtema), holding in Abuja on Saturday.

He also said the four-day event with the theme ‘Unveiling Impacts and Sustaining A Legacy for Service to Humanity’, would also be used to propagate Islam as a religion of peace.

He said the quest for resources and political relevance is largely responsible for the age-long Israel-Palestine conflict.

“The crisis in the middle east is not religious and since it is more of political in claiming natural resources and political relevancy, the solution should be political and our leaders have always called for such solutions,” he said.

Akinyemi noted that the first MKAN National Convention was first held in 1972 and that annually, the MKAN gathers for their National Convention, welcoming delegates from all states and local governments across Nigeria.

He said, “In a time where Nigeria faces multifaceted challenges ranging from socio-economic disparities to security threats and governance issues, it becomes imperative for us to reflect deeply on the significance of sustaining a legacy for service to humanity.

“At its core, this theme underscores the urgent need for collective action, rooted in compassion, unity, and selfless service, to overcome our present challenges and chart a path towards a more prosperous and harmonious future.”
