Whitefields, a leading rice producer in Nigeria and owners of Falcon and Mango premium rice, ready-to-eat Indian ethnic food, and other agro-commodities with a presence in over 35 countries, has partnered Trinitas Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing aid and support to disadvantaged communities around the world, to provide food items and economic support to over 7000 families in Lagos through an initiative called ‘Christmas Cheer 2022’.
The event, which took place on December 21, 2022, restored the hope and spirit of Christmas for underprivileged families as many of them equally received household items, educational materials and monetary aid.
Revealing that the gesture would be an annual event, CFO of Whitefields, Mr Suhas Basu said, “We are thrilled to be able to support this important initiative and contribute to the well-being of families in need.
“We believe that everyone deserves to have a happy and fulfilling holiday season and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these individuals.”
Expressing appreciation for the partnership with Whitefields, Executive Director of Trinitas Foundation, Mr Yanju George, said, “We are grateful for Whitefields’ generous support and commitment to helping those in need.
“Together, we can make a significant impact and bring joy and hope to more families during holiday seasons.”
The ‘Christmas Cheer 2022’ initiative, as the event was tagged, is one of the many ways that Whitefields and Trinitas Foundation are working to ensure that hunger and lack is tackled vigorously in communities across the country.
