The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono has commissioned Agribusiness Incubation Centre initiated by the Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State with an assurance that the federal government would partner with relevant government agencies and other players in the sector towards food security in the country.
He said while the federal government, through the ministry has over the years spearheaded the revolution within the sector, it was prepared to continue to provide effective leadership through sustainable policy direction.

The minister commended the efforts of the university and its achievements so far and promised more federal government commitment toward promoting the agricultural sector for better economic development.
Earlier in her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar noted that the centre was established as a Centre of Excellence for the dissemination of best agricultural practices for the expansion of the capacity of Nigerian farmers to produce food and agricultural products on a sustainable basis.
She said for the centre to be effective it needed the federal government assistance in facilitating mobility for staffs, rice milling accessories, as well as the provision of an access road to the centre.
