In a REC resolution issued by the union after its meeting held in Sokoto recently, the confirmation of Aitokhuehi as the General Secretary of AAEUN took effect from April 15, 2020.
Aitokhuehi is a graduate of Sociology from the University of Ibadan. He also holds the professional degree of Master of Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR), Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university. In 2009, he took a Post Graduate Certificate Course in Labour Policy Studies (LPS) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
He joined the service of the union in July 1999 and has served in various capacities such as State Secretary, Rivers State Council, Zonal Co-ordinator, South-South Zone, Head of Department, Organisation, Planning and Research. In 2004, he was appointed Deputy General Secretary (Administration and Finance).
