Agip repairs vandalized gas pipeline

Eni, the Italian parent company to Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) has fixed its vandalized 24 inches gas pipeline at Okaka community in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.

The company said it has also lifted the Force Majeure (FM) at Bonny NLNG on April 13th which was declared on April 6th following the destruction of the gas pipeline.

The incident on the gas pipeline operated by its Nigerian unit of NAOC had cut the gas export feed to NLNG by five million standard cubic meter per day.

Eni in a statement by its spokesman indicated normalcy had returned to its gas export operations.

It will be recalled that the facility had suffered a second attack within a few days on April 5 and went up in flames.

Director-General and Chief Executive of National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Mr Idris Musa, had said that investigations by the agency traced the two leak incidents to sabotage by vandals.
