Nigerian wrestler and Olympic debutant, Ekerekeme Agiomor has fallen to India’s Deepak Punia in the Men’s 86kg Freestyle event.

The only male wrestler, Agiomor, lost 1-12 to the Indian by technical superiority.

Agiomor, who was making his Olympics debut, didn’t stand a chance against the experienced Punia on the mat.

The 3-time African championship medalist Agiomor gave his all, but couldn’t make it past the Indian.

In 2018, he won the gold medal in the 79 kg event at the 2018 African Wrestling Championships held in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.  A year later, he won one of the bronze medals in this event at the 2019 African Wrestling Championships held in Hammamet, Tunisia.
