AGF, philanthropist sponsor 45 students in NOUN

The Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmad Idris, has sponsored 35 students from Daneji Quarters in Kano Municipal and Gezawa local government areas to study degree programmes at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Alhaji Muntari Dangana, another philanthropist from the same Daneji Quarters, paid for additional 10 students from the area to study in the university.

The selection of the students, comprising both males and females, was facilitated by the Daneji Amintacciya Youth Association (DAYA), a community-based organisation working on youth empowerment and development in the area.

SPONSOR AD

Speaking at the ceremony where the students were handed their admission letters, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Prof Abdalla Uba Adamu, urged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of their community.

Basiru Daneji, a father to one of the students, thanked the sponsors for the gesture, describing them as builders of modern Daneji.
