Agali plans intense camping exercise for Olympic bound athletes

The Nigeria Wrestling Federation President, Daniel Igali has revealed that the Olympic bound wrestlers will undergo intense camping exercise ahead of the Olympics Games.

Igali, in a chat said the athletes just have a week to rest after participating in the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival in Edo State.

“The athletes from here will have just one week to rest and then summon them to Bayelsa for national camp for one month intense camp and go for Governor Diri National Wrestling classic which will be the last competition we will have on the home soil and go for tournament and camping outside the country.” he said.

Agali, who doubles as the Commissioner of Sports in Bayelsa further said Team Bayelsa are on track to perform well in the Festival.

“We are on track and exactly where we want to be. We are about where we want to be as we are in the second position. With all things being equal, we should be between second and third at the end of the Festival.

“I have a governor who was a commissioner for youth and sports development and he understands what is required to come for a competition of this magnitude and to do well. The charge he gave us was we should not go below the fourth position,” he said.
