Barely two days after gunmen suspected to kidnappers killed four travellers, gunmen again opened fire on a pickup van, killing the driver, Gambo Musa, and injuring one person few metres away from Shishingeneshi village in Toto local government council of Nasarawa state.
The injured victim, Abdulrasheed Musa, while speaking with our reporter at Toto general hospital where he was receiving treatment, said the incident happened around 6:30 am.
He said he joined his deceased elder brother from Adadu village in the pickup van to convey charcoal to a farm when some gunmen suddenly appeared from the bush and opened fire on the vehicle.
He said his brother who was driving the pickup die instantly after being shot, while he was shot in the hand and chest.
“It was immediately they opened fire at our vehicle and discovered that me and my brother have died before they now escape back into the bush,” he said.
He said the remains of his brother has been buried according to Islamic rites.
The spokesman of the Nasarawa state police command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
