The Arewa Youth Assembly has again kicked against the fuss generated over the closure of the International Conference Centre (ICC), for repairs by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

It was reacting after a coalition of Northern group under the auspicious of Northern patriotic front gave Wike two week ultimatum to reverse revoking contracts of managing ICC from integrated facility management.

Coordinator of the Northern patriotic front, Comrade Ali Abacha, told journalists in Kaduna last Thursday, that the group concluded plans to hold a world press conference but following the intervention of some northern elders they halt the move but gave the minister two week ultimatum to reverse the decision.

Reacting on Friday, Ali Muhammed, Publicity secretary, Arewa Youth Assembly, in a statement, said: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication by the Northern patriotic front Where in they gave the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Barrister Ezenwo Neysom Wike(CON) two weeks ultimatum to reverse revoking contracts of managing International conference center (ICC) Abuja from integrated facility management.

“We wish to make it abundantly clear to these group, it’s sponsors and co-travellers to stop distracting the Honourable Minister and let him focus on fulfilling the promise he made to Nigerians of developing the Federal Capital Territory in accordance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda. Ultimatum or no ultimatum, the development of Abuja remains sacrosanct.

“We caution them to stop politicizing every situation, ICC belongs to Nigeria as a country, beside, time for politics is over as clearly stated by the president, its now time for governance.”
