Barely two weeks after bandits abducted 11 farmers at Achimbi village in Kwaku ward of Kuje Area Council, eight farmers were again reportedly abducted at neighbouring Gumanyi village in the area.
City & Crime had reported that bandits two weeks ago whisked away 11 farmers who were harvesting yam. The victims are still being held by the abductors.
A resident of Gumanyi, Isaac Musa, said the incident happened on Saturday, around 11:12pm when the bandits wielding sophisticated weapons suddenly appeared from bush and whisked the farmers away at gunpoint.
He said the victims were harvesting guinea corn when the bandits surrounded them and herded them into the bush.

“In fact, the other 11 farmers who were abducted at Achimbi village were yet to be released, as their abductors were demanding N11 million ransom. And where will the victims or any of their relations get such money,” he said.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Adeh Josephine, was yet to reply to a text message sent to her phone on the latest kidnap incident as at the time of filling this report.
