Another batch of 120 stranded Nigerians from Libya has arrived in the late hours of Friday, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The agency, alongside other sister agencies of the Federal Government received the returnees who arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Cargo Wing at about 9:15 p.m via Al Buraq Air.
Their repatriation was facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) which has assisted over 10,000 voluntary returnees from the North African country.
The breakdown of the returnees indicated that there were 29 female adults, five female children and four female infants.
Acting Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Mr. Segun Afolayan, who received the returnees said they were brought back from three main cities; Sabha, Bram Alshati and Oubari.
He enjoined the returnees to make use of the second chance having survived the risks in Libya.
One of the returnees, Miss Chisom Johnson, who said she is a professional stylist, expressed regret that she fell victim of deceit and deception by suspected trafficker.
“I was deceived that I would get better job at Germany as a stylist, there are 20 of us in the team and we were promised that we would fly to Germany but after two weeks we found ourselves in Niger Republic.
“After three weeks we were in Libya, Madam told all of us that, we can’t cross over but we had to do prostitution in order to refund her money which was N1.4 million.”
