The Lagos State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted its Leaders’ Advisory Council with former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George, nominated as the “rallying leader” of the party in the state.

The inauguration was part of moves to reposition the party which has wobbled over the years owing to internal crises.

Leaders from across all the local governments in the state converged on the office of Bode George for the inauguration.

Members of the leaders’ council include Chief Dapo Sarumi, PDP Board of Trustees member, Chief Aduke Maina, former Deputy Governor of the state, former National Secretary of the PDP, Dr. Remi Akitoye, former minister, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, state chairman, Engr. Adedeji Doherty and state Secretary, Prince Muiz Dosunmu, among others.

George, in his acceptance speech after being affirmed as the rallying leader of the state, said the inauguration was a new beginning for the party even as he apologised to any member of the party aggrieved with him.
