After finishing their campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and the Federation Cup, the management and players of Doma United have been given three weeks break and are to resume on June 19.

The Chairman of the club, Alhaji Suleiman Umar, while addressing the players after the loss against Rangers in the Federation Cup on Sunday, thanked them for their commitment towards achieving the club’s goal in the just concluded season.

 “I like to say a very big thank you to all of you for your commitment through the season. Though it was painful losing out of the NPFL Super Six playoffs and losing today’s (Sunday) game, but I feel proud of you all.

“Our target at the beginning of the season was to retain our NPFL status and we’ve successfully done that.

“I am proud of you all, by virtue of that, we’re going on a three-week break which will enable us to rest and spend some quality time with our families. When we say three weeks, we mean three weeks. No late resumption as we will be participating in several pre-season programs and preparing well ahead of next league season.”

The Chairman also promised to celebrate the successful season with the players after their resumption. “We are going to celebrate our success this season and we would reward standout performances”.

It will be recalled that Doma United finished 5th on the log of group B of their debut season in the just concluded abridged league and crashed out of the Federation Cup in the quarter-finals against Enugu Rangers.
