After a relentless decade-long pursuit, the Bauchi State Police Command has finally captured the alleged ringleader, Kabiru Musa Alias Dawa, accused of killing eight individuals, including a police woman, six National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, and a 17-year-old girl in Giade Local Government Area of the state.

The state Police Commissioner, Awwal Musa Mohammed, while addressing reporters, said the atrocities committed by Musa and his gang dated back to April 18th, 2011.

He said the group, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked the Giade Divisional Police Headquarters, resulting in the death of F/No. 020827 W/PC. Rifkatu Bappa and the gruesome murder of six corps members seeking refuge at the station.

Musa detailed how the suspects set ablaze a motor vehicle, attacked civilians, and wreaked havoc, leading to breakdown of law and order.

Despite years of evasion, Musa has now been captured and investigations are underway. He will face trial based on the findings of the investigation, the CP added.

Also, Mohammed  revealed that Musa is implicated in another case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. This incident occurred on April 26th, 2024, where the decomposed body of a 17-year-old girl, Aisha Mohammad, was discovered in a well in Giade. Two individuals, including Kabiru Musa and Anas Adamu, were arrested in connection with the crime. While one defendant denied the allegations, the other confessed to the crime, implicating Musa as his accomplice.
