The authorities of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) and the Kwara State College of Education (COE) have announced a ban on sign-out ceremonies for graduating students.
A source said the school had to take the decision to prevent further degeneration of the situation as being experienced in other institutions.
The decision, it was gathered, followed a series of questionable and immoral acts involving students of the two institutions.
It was gathered that students of some faculties in the university brought musicians into the school where wads of naira were sprayed during their graduation.

Another source said the COE had already instituted a panel of enquiry on the case of one Mohammed AbdulSalam for grabbing the breasts of one Tawakalitu Sulyman during the sign-out ceremony in the school last week.
In separate statements, the schools banned the exercise held after the final paper of their examinations.
The Unilorin statement reads in part: “Sign-outs, involving making inscriptions on white vests, car awareness and pouring water on each other, embarked upon by final-year students are banned with immediate effect.”
The university’s spokesman, Mr Kunle Akogun, confirmed the development to our correspondent on Monday.
On its part, the COE said the ban followed the “immoral practice” by two students, among other numerous complaints.
The COE statement reads in part: “The college management has finally banned the sign-out activities within and around the college premises.”
