The Kaduna state Government has concluded plans to hold the maiden Kaduna International Housing Exhibition to find solutions to its desire to provide affordable and social houses for citizens of the state.
Director of Event for the Kaduna International Housing Exhibition, Joshua James disclosed while addressing journalists ahead of the exhibition, at the Kaduna State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in Kaduna.
He said, the exhibition with the theme; ‘Kaduna Sustainable Housing Development -A Model for Northern Housing Reforms’ underscores the state’s vision for the future, “a future where every individual and family in Kaduna has access to safe, affordable, and dignified housing.”
James said the exhibition which was held in Kaduna on the 1st and 2nd of July, was put together by three organizations including the Kaduna State Property Development Company (KSPDC), a private firm, Kaduna Housing Exhibition Limited and the Kaduna state Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

He said the exhibition is aimed at bringing more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), more developers with construction finance and look for solutions to challenges of modern buildings.
According to James, experts will come to the exhibition with smart buildings and unveil innovations and creative ways of building affordable houses.
“Two expert builders are coming to speak on how to construct modern buildings. These experts will unveil innovations and creative ways of building Affordable houses. These solutions when unveiled will provide answers to the question of if affordable houses can be built.
“The exhibition will bring off-takers to subscribe to the social houses. National Assembly members, minister of housing and urban development, honourable speaker federal house of Representatives have all confirmed their attendance but we are still waiting for confirmation if the VP will attend,” he said.
He said the Governor Uba Sami’s administration is looking at affordable and social houses, adding that finding materials that are cheaper would make it easier.
“Over the one year, Governor Uba Sani led Kaduna State has made tremendous strides in housing and urban development. We have embarked on ambitious projects, implemented innovative policies, and partnered with stakeholders to address the housing deficit and improve urban infrastructure.
“The goal of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani is clear: to ensure that housing remains a fundamental right for all our people in northern Nigeria. This exhibition serves as a platform to showcase our achievements, exchange ideas with industry leaders, and explore innovative technologies and practices that can further enhance our housing sector,” he said.
