AFCON qualifier: “I’m on fire” – Aribo warns Benin, Lesotho

Super Eagles’ midfielder, Joe Aribo has warned Squirrels of Benin and Crocodiles of Lesotho ahead of next week 2021 AFCON qualifier clashes

The in-form Rangers player stated this on his Instagram page after his side got to the Scottish League Cup final, defeating Hearts 3-0 during the weekend.

The London-born player, who has netted in his two appearances for the Eagles, twitted “Through to the final!! Great team performances, I’m on fire,” he wrote.

Aribo was a second half substitute replacing Ryan Kent in the 66th minute, while Ojo started the game before making way for England striker, Jermain Defoe, in the 82nd minute

It will be recalled he played a starring role when he found the net barely four minutes in his debut match for Nigeria against Ukraine on September 10.

He further cemented his importance in the Super Eagles squad when he netted his second goal in Eagles game against Brazil in his second match.

He is prepared to prove his worth once again in Thursday’s UEFA Europa league clash against FC Porto and Sunday’s League game away to Livingston.

The 23-year-old is expected to inspire the three-time African champion to glory come November 13, on home soil in Uyo, and away to Lesotho five days later.
