The Nigerian media has declared it will give the Super Eagles the necessary support needed for them to win the AFCON 20221 which kicks off this weekend in Cameroon.
The chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT chapter, Bunmi Haruna, made this assertion on behalf of journalists in a goodwill message to the Eagles at a send forth ceremony organised by the federal government for the team in Abuja.

Haruna, who is also a CAF license B football coach, urged the coach Augustine Eguavoen-led team to go and make Nigerians proud in Cameroon.
“The Nigeria media is solidly behind you, we believe you have what it takes to make Nigerians proud,” Haruna said.
“We will criticize you when needed, but it will be positive to ensure you deliver on the mandate given to you by President Buhari.
“Go out there and make us proud, Nigerians never forget those who make them happy, they will surely reward you even to generations to come.”
He also commended the minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare, for organising the first Super Eagles AFCON send forth ceremony in over 30 years.
The Super Eagles are in group D of the AFCON alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.
