AFCON 2014 ticket not lost yet – Salisu

Speaking to Weekly Trust yesterday, the Technical Adviser of El-kanemi Warriors said what the Eagles need to do to land in Morocco is to win the two matches that are remaining in the qualifiers.
He said once the six points are in the kitty, the team can then look at what will happen among the other group opponents.
Yusuf said this is the time that the Eagles need the support of every Nigerian and so everybody should pray for the team and wish it well.
He explained that the Eagles did not intentionally get themselves into this tight corner so Nigerians should not turn their backs on the team now that their support is needed in full.
The former Lobi Stars and Enyimba gaffer said he will give Coach Amodu Shaibu all the support he needs to perform another miracle with the Eagles.
“I want to first and foremost thank the NFF for considering me worthy of this appointment. I was in the national team before and this is another opportunity for me to serve this country.
“I want to also say that it is not over yet. Eagles can still qualify for the Nations Cup. All we need to do is to win the two matches and wait to see what will happen elsewhere.
“I am going to give Coach Shaibu all the support he needs to succeed. It is a collective responsibility and I will ensure he gets all the necessary assistance”.
Yusuf also said he is not going be distracted from his primary assignment which is making sure that El-kanemi end the season on a high.
“Combining my national duties with my club schedule is not going to be a problem. The national assignment is for a short period so I will have enough time to round up the season with my club,” he said.
