The newly elected local government council executives of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kwara State chapter have been tasked to ensure peace in their communities and report every crisis in their local councils to the national body.
Kwara State Acting Chairman of AFAN, Mr. Daniel Ajiboye, made the call in Ilorin, at the inauguration of the new executives where he noted that security unrest around the country started between crop and cattle farmers which later migrated into insurgency.
“I want you to know that the security unrest in the nation started between the crop and cattle farmers which culminated into insurgency mostly victimizing farmers on daily basis.
We are therefore to take charge and discourage crisis among farmers aggressively by setting up committee in collaboration with the cattle and crop farmers, traditional rulers, police and youth in your host communities and also ensure that every crisis reports are forwarded to AFAN state headquarters,” he said.
