AEDC appoints Saidu COO

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has appointed Engr. Abdullahi Gorebe Saidu as acting Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Engr. Saidu was before now the General Manager (Technical Services).

Commenting on the appointment, AEDC MD/CEO Engr. Ernest Mupwaya said, “He is a dedicated staff skilled in operations and maintenance of electric power distribution network, project management, and developing strategies for reduction of ATC&C losses.”

The acting COO joined AEDC on November 16, 2015 as the Regional Manager, Kogi region from where he was appointed as the General Manager, Technical Services.

A seasoned engineer with 19 years’ experience, Saidu holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications and had lectured at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1993-1998.

He has also worked at various times in the present day Eko and Yola Electricity companies as principal manager and assistant general manager respectively before the privatisation in 2013.

He is a certified member of the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) as well as the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE). He  has since resumed duties.
