AEA trains 144 retiring FCTA staff on entrepreneurship

By Ummaima Yakubu

The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has trained 144 retired and retiring staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on entrepreneurship.

At the closing ceremony of the training on Friday, the Managing Director (MD) of AEA, Malam Shehu Abdulkadir, said the objective of the training was to equip them with basic skills to start and nurture their businesses.

He said, “For those who do not have business ideas, we are here to give them the hand-holding support to ensure that they start successful ventures.”

FCTA’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola, represented by Mr Atang Udo Samuel, said the administration recognised the need to equip and prepare those who were about to exit the service, as well as those that might have left before now, on what it took to operate actively and profitably in the business environment.

FCTA’s Director of Human Resources, Malam Bashir Muhammed, urged the participants to put into practice all they had gained in the course of the training, noting that it would guarantee their financial stability and freedom.
