The acting Managing Director (MD) of the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Mallam Shehu Abdulkadir, has tasked 100 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) currently undergoing entrepreneurship training with the agency to work at becoming self-reliant.

Mallam Abdulkadir was speaking at the opening of the second batch training of the 2021 Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP) on Saturday in Abuja.

He said, “YEP is targeted at the NYSC, fresh graduates and unemployed youths between the ages of 18 and 35. It is aimed at developing the entrepreneurial skills in youths by empowering them with skills on how to start and nurture their own businesses and ultimately create Innovation-Driven Enterprises (IDEs) required for business sustainability.

The representative of the Executive Secretary of the PEF’s Management Board, Amina Muhammed, said they wanted to encourage youth corps members serving with PEF to be innovative and get accustomed to entrepreneurship to enable them contribute to national development.
