The Senate and the House of Representatives had last Tuesday recently passed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, approving electronic transmission of results and direct primary.
Yabagi said: “We’ve moved a step forward. With direct primary, you’ve given powers back to the people.”
He described politics as a “serious business”, saying there is no amount of money spent on it that is too much.
He also admonished politicians to have “a second address” apart from politics.
