The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has announced the father of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Alani Bankole, as the chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT).

Chief Bankole on Thursday attended the inauguration of three committees which was performed by the ADP National Chairman, Engr. Yusuf Yabaji Sani at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The former speaker of the lower chamber of National Assembly, Dimeji Bankole, is a member of National Contact and Mobilisation Committee headed by Senator Roland Owie.

The remaining two newly inaugurated teams were National Committee on Polling Units Establishment and National Committee on Establishment of Party Secretariat.

The former speaker’s father, in an interview with journalists, confirmed that his son, Dimeji, is now a chieftain of the newly established party, the ADP.

The ADP National Chairman, Engr. Sani, who spoke during the inauguration of the committees, said the step was taken as part of the “Operation Take Nigeria Back”.

Sani said that it was part of the measures being taken by the ADP to not only rescue and build Nigeria but also give the citizens a sense of direction.

He said, “Our economy is in the doldrums. Education has virtually collapsed. Insecurity has become pervasive with several of our country men and women, mowed down daily by criminal elements.

“Obviously, we cannot keep silent in the face of evil and daunting challenges. ADP has stepped in to change the narrative. We are determined to rebuild Nigeria into an egalitarian nation where tribe and religion will never be factors that determine a citizen level of attainment.”

The chairman of the mobilisation committee, Senator Owie, in his acceptance remarks on behalf of other committees, gave an assurance that they would do their best to discharge the responsibilities by contacting the “reasonable people”.
