Following the just concluded presidential elections, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN, has charged the newly elected president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to select the best brains as members of his cabinet, in order to move the country forward.

This call was made by ICSAN president, Taiwo Gbenga Owokalade, at a media parley held in Lagos yesterday.

While congratulating the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the successful completion of the general elections, Owokalade stated that the institute holds onto the president elect’s promise to form a government based on national competency.

According to him, Tinubu was elected not as his party’s president but the president of the whole federation, and as such should see himself from a larger perspective and look for the best brains.

He said: “Electioneering has gone and now is the time for governance. He already assured us that he would form a government of national competence. To us as an institution, we hold onto such statements so that when he comes up with his cabinet, our questions will be if he is forming a cabinet of APC or national competence truly.”

Owokalade said Nigeria already possesses numerical strength and her citizens are relevant in key positions globally, adding that the selection should give citizens reasons to believe in the country again.
