A statement released by the family in Abuja, said a Christian wake-keep will hold at Good News Baptist Church, Surulere on July 9, while Pa Okome will be buried in Lagos on July 10 at the Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi.
The body of Pa. Okome will lie-in-state at his residence, 14 Olukole Street, Surulere while a funeral service will take place at Yaba Baptist Church, Sabo-Yaba.
Pa Elijah Okome, the statement said died in his sleep at his residence in Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, May 9, 2009.
He came to Lagos in the early 1930s and was employed by the United African Company (UAC) central accounts department. He also worked with Kingsway Chemist and later served as an accountant with Berini Beirut Riyad Bank, Nigeria and Nigerian Arab Bank from where he eventually retired.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Susanna Okome, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
