The Senate of the University of Ibadan Thursday approved the appointment of a Professor of Chemistry, Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, as the 13th Vice Chancellor of the institution.
The Pro-chancellor of the institution, Dr. John Odigie-Oyegun, who announced this, said Adebowale emerged out of 16 applications received.

Daily Trust reports that Babatunde Ekanola, a professor of philosophy, had been appointed in acting capacity since December 2020 after the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka.
Adebowale until the appointment was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administrative).
