The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led government to address the challenges bedeviling the state and the country at large.
The PDP in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Raphael Adeyanju in Ado Ekiti yesterday said Ekiti workers celebrated this year’s Workers’ Day in gloom because of the numerous challenges affecting them.
The PDP lamented that Nigerians are facing an avalanche of challenges such as kidnappings for ransom, food crisis, poverty, banditry, hunger and many others.
The party said, “The condition of civil servants and the retirees in the state is one of the worst in Nigeria”, and asked the APC led government to address the issues.

Reacting to the current fuel scarcity and the general high cost of living in the state, the PDP spokesman said the situation has become unbearable.
“This terrible situation has reached a breaking point in Ekiti State. A litre of petrol now sells between N1,000 and N2,000, the cost of transportation is terrible with a deplorable road network.
“Our people now battle with poverty, high cost of living and general state of insecurity.”
