From Eyo Charles, Calabar
Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 election in Cross River State, Mr. Odey Ochicha, has called on politicians to stop being desperate and violent in their quest to win elections.
Ochicha has also condemned the killing of innocent Nigerians in the course of the rerun elections in Rivers State.
In a telephone chat, Ochicha advised politicians to stop pushing innocent Nigerians to sacrifice their lives for their selfish political interests.
The APC chieftain described the situation in Rivers as “uncivilized” way of playing politics, and called on security agents to protect lives and properties of the electorate.
Ochicha slammed stakeholders in Rivers State for making unguarded statements that are capable of generating violence in the name of political contest.
“The Rivers State issue is now a national problem and all hands must be on deck to ensure peaceful rerun elections in the state,” he said.
