Vice Chancellor of the Adamawa State University, Professor Joshua David Shall, has been sacked. A letter signed by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Bindir, said the action was based on recommendation of a visitation panel that investigated allegations of maladministration in the university.
“Following the report of the Visitation Committee set up by the governor of Adamawa State in line with Section 15 (2) of University Law, 2001, to investigate allegations of maladministration and other general challenges in the university and recommendation of white paper as endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education, the supervising ministry of the university, I wish to convey approval for your removal from office with immediate effect,” part of the letter read.
The letter directed Shall to surrender all university property in his possession to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Moses Zira Zaruwa.
