  • …As Heartland fight back to beat Dakkada FC 2-1

Reprieve has finally come the way of the coaching crew of embattled Adamawa United after the last on the table team fought hard to secure a 1-0 victory over Lobi Stars in the Match Day 12 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season match played yesterday at the Pantami stadium in Gombe.

Prior to this game at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, Adamawa Utd had remained the only team in the league without a win after 11 games.

It is also their first win in the NPFL since February 2020 thus ending a run of 15 winless matches.

Substitute Stanley Nnanna broke the deadlock in Gombe in the 78th minute after tapping home from a close range with an assist from Sadiq Lawan.

It was a disappointing result for Lobi Stars who have only won only one match in the month of February and sought to end the month with a victory against the whipping boys of the league.

Though Adamawa United remain bottom of the table, they have now moved to within seven points of safety on 6 points while Lobi dropped down to 10th position on 16 points.

Meanwhile, Heartland FC also defeated visiting Dakkada FC 2-1 to move to 8th position at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Emmanuel Adachi and Kingsley Maduforo secured all maximum points for Heartland after Kokoette Udo opened the scoring for his side in the 40th minute.

At the Muhammadu Dikko stadium, Katsina Utd and MFM FC shared the spoils of war as the game ended 0-0.

Katsina United were hoping to bounce back from their 3-0 pummeling by FC IfeanyiUbah in week 11.

The three matches decided yesterday effectively concluded week 12 of the 2021 NPFL season.
